Growing & Planting Instructions

When to Plant: Plant in spring after all danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures reach approximately 60°F.

Planting Depth: Plant tubers 4–6 inches deep in well-draining soil, with the eye facing upward.

Sunlight: Provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth and flowering.

Watering: Avoid heavy watering until sprouts emerge. Once established, water deeply and consistently, allowing soil to drain between waterings.

Pinching: Pinch the center growing tip when plants reach approximately 12 inches tall to encourage branching and increased flower production.

Support: Provide stakes or plant netting to support stems as plants mature.

Harvesting: Cut blooms when approximately three-quarters open for the best vase life. Regular harvesting encourages continued flowering.

Overwintering: In colder climates, including Western New York, dig and store tubers in a cool, frost-free location for replanting the following spring.
